Chronic kidney disease (CKD) has emerged as a public health problem worldwide in recent years. Adherence with nutritional therapy among CKD patients has been reported in the literature to be as low as 36%. As an example a diet low in phosphorus has been reported to be the most complicated diet prescription for most CKD patients.
